Now You Can Buy Kebabs Using Bitcoin, Australian Fast Food Chain Adopts Cryptocurrency Payments

As per the reports of the Australian media, Kebabs Origin, the country’s fast food chain, is now accepting cryptocurrency payments for kebabs and further stuff in its menu. The media reports said that Aussies can now purchase kebabs by means of the Lightning Network after countrywide fast food chain Origin Kebabs signed a deal with the virtual currency startup-TravelbyBit.

It is to be noted that TravelbyBit has become rather well-known after the world’s biggest digital asset and cryptocurrency exchange Binance confirms ownership stake in it during Oct 2018. It is to be noted that TravelbyBit is an Australian based Tourism cryptocurrency-payments startup. Interestingly, Origin Kebab is also based out in Australia.

It is to be noted that the restaurant has confirmed to accept Bitcoin payments at 4 Queensland stores. These stores are – Eagleby, Westfield Chermside, Queensland University of Technology, and Broadbeach. Apart from Bitcoin, the firm is also accepting other altcoins. These include  BNB, Litecoin, and Ethereum.

Nonetheless, the 4 stores are chosen for tryout – if the virtual asset payment test goes shipshape, Origin Kebabs will roll analogous cryptocurrency payments across forty-nine stores. Nevertheless, with an assessment period in place, Origin Kebabs assert itself as Australia’s 1st drive-through Bitcoin restaurants.

Origin Kebabs’ General Manager, Burhan Goktas, is rather overwhelmed with the means BTC works and keyed up with the integration.

Goktas said that within forty minutes of installing it (in Chermside) they had made a sale on BTC. He further hinted the upcoming likely sponsorship with Coca-Cola.

He further adds that if they can get someone like Coca-Cola on board, it just adds to the trustworthiness of cryptocurrency. Goktas further mentioned that they would egg on other chief chains in the country to test it to help supplementary adoption.

Furthermore, TravelbyBit, till date counts network around four-hundred retail locations. As a cryptocurrency supporter, TravelbyBit CEO Caleb Yeoh emphasize that lightening network is the just right for fast-food user cases as fast food should be done as swiftly as the lightning network. Yeoh adds that one can pay with Bitcoin. He said that it’s immediate, there are almost no fees, and it’s only for low-value amounts, so if one looks at the price of kebab, that’s precisely what Lightning is for.
