Tezos Commons Foundation (TCF) members have raised concerns over the alleged upcoming hard fork of Tezos blockchain and to create a new chain called Dune Protocol. The disagreement and unreasonable pre-launch negotiations between Tezos (XTZ) and OCamlPro are considered one among the reasons for the fork. Shaun Belcher, the executive director of Tezos Commons have highlighted this issue through a medium blog post on June 17.
TCF is a US-based non-profit corporation which was founded in the spring of 2018, as an independent entity. There are over 70 global Tezos community leaders which are collaboratively working hard in spreading the education while supporting the community endeavors across the Tezos Commonwealth.
The blogclaims that two organization OCamlPro and Starchain Capitalare involved in a mysterious plotting which can harm the users’ attitude towards the trustworthy Tezos (XTZ), the smart contract based blockchain project that has come to provide “the world’s first ‘self-amending’ cryptocurrency”. It is worth noting that Tezos (XTZ) is based on delegated Proof of stake concept. Meaning, if token holders do not wish to participate in staking directly (e.g. lack of time, knowledge, or resources) then they can delegate someone else to validate on their behalf.
Tezos launched a Betanet on 30 June 2018, following which it became Mainnet on 17 September 2018. Its 2017, initial coin offering (ICO) raised over $230 million.
The information about the conspiracy has been provided to the TCF by some third-party entities that are indicated in the blog but not yet verified.
One snippet from the blog says, “Tezos software is an open source platform which anyone can fork.”
Starchain– a blockchain fund and OCamlPro– an organization which promotes French programming language became partners to execute Tezos (XTZ) hard fork that is expected in September 2019. Further, with the help of evidence, the role of the two organizations are mentioned to execute the process which says that Starchain would do branding, marketing, community, financing, and strategize while OCamlPro would do coding/finishing.
The data also mentions about Fabrisse Le Lessant, founder of OCamlPro who asserted that “he had mentored Arthur Breitman, Tezos’ co-founder for the project and helped to complete Tezos (XTZ) project by 90%.
Shaun Belcher with the help of Corey Soreff, Board member at Tezos Commons able to compile the information which directly pointing on OCamlPro and Starchain linkage against Tezos (XTZ). The data also reveals some documented proof as an evidence of collusion through various exhibits. In Exhibit (A) it is mentioned about the formation of a new company named ‘Origin Labs’ in France on May 27, 2019, and appointment of Fabrice Le Lessant, as the President. Exhibit 2(A) shows the public U.S. registration documents of SPOON SPV LLC, which is prepared by Starchain Capital for the Dune Protocol.
The U.S. registration documents also revealed some information about the “Origin Labs”- the company contracted to develop the Dune Protocol. Origin Labs is the same new company which is mentioned above and created by Fabrice Le Lessant in France on May 27, 2019.
There are various other signals in the post which shows the indulgence of Starchain and OCamlPro against the hard fork of Tezos (XTZ).
Belcher while concluding the post strongly urges and offers to Fabrisse Le Lessant and others from OCamlPro to address these concerns whether correct or not as per the received pieces of evidence, so that the damage can be controlled.
Moreover, he also mentioned that OCamlPro as a development team is allowed to move ahead as per their interest, even with a new fork based on Tezos. However, it is also important to move forward in the best interests of the Tezos ecosystem, and “Tezos community deserves insight into all the developments and situations for further judgment.”
