LG In Race After Samsung To Launch Blockchain-Based Phone

South Korean electronics giant LG is working with blockchain developers to launch a rival to Samsung’s Klaytn blockchain smartphone, sources have said.

Seoul, South Korea based LG Electronics, a multinational electronics company is going to launch a blockchain-based phone after Samsung’s Klaytn (Clayton) blockchain smartphone.  Reportedly, the company has started to work with the blockchain developers towards its development and has also worked out on a use case before unveiling its innovation.

LG Hunting For Local Developers

The world’s second-largest LCD television manufacturer is now underway to discuss the process of a blockchain-enabled smartphone with the decentralized application (DApp) developers which are locally present and having good handhold on the revolutionary technology. The updates have come through the local media outlet Chosun on Sep 8.

According to the publication, one of the industry insiders has handed the information on LG’s new plan of launching its new generation blockchain-enabled smartphone. No doubt LG is one of the biggest competitors to Samsung and probably, trying to “respond to Samsung’s innovation initiative” as per the informant.

Samsung Blockchain Empowered Galaxy Note 10, 10+

Earlier the news broke out of Samsung’s cooperation with South Korea’s largest internet conglomerate Kakao Corp. and its subsidiaryGroundX to launch cryptocurrency favored blockchain-enabled smartphone, dubbed as “Klaytn Phone.”

Purportedly, Samsung’s upcoming device Galaxy Note 10 would come out with an inbuilt “Clayton Phone Wallet, Samsung’s cryptocurrency wallet app“Blockchain Keystore” along with the 2000 KLAY giveaway. KLAY is the token developed by Kakao’s GroundX. However, Klay isn’t yet listed on the exchanges. Additionally, there would be five more blockchain-based apps (BApps) installed in the device, namely, YouTube; women’s stock; Fitzmi; fiction network; and hammocks.
