Agharta Hard Fork: Dates Declared For Ethereum Classic Hard Fork

Coming as the latest development in the cryptosphere, Ethereum Classic team broadcasted the date of a key update. The latest Ethereum Classic Hard Fork is known as Agharta and the developers of the ecosystem divulged a roadmap for the much-awaited hard fork. This chief update is primarily concentrated on corresponding compatibility with Ethereum’s blockchain.

The Ethereum Classic team mentioned on Twitter that the latest hard fork upgrade will be inclusive of the Ethereum Constantinople features making Ethereum Classic completely well-suited with Ethereum.

It is to be noted that the blockchain hard fork will go through more than a few phases. The first phase will be started on 13 November, 2019 with the unveiling of Morden, a test net.

The scheduled date for mainnet fork is 15 January, 2019. Nonetheless, the Ethereum Classic ecosystem developers highlighted that the aforementioned dates are introductory and subject to modification.

The Ethereum Classic team penned in a blog post,

“Ethereum Classic and Ethereum are evolving from the same ancestry, and further technical compatibility will provide a stronger bridge to collaborate on shared infrastructure as well as maintain our unique differences. The recent Atlantis hard-fork was to increase ETH Compatability and Agharta will be the second half of that goal”

At the time of reporting, Ethereum Classic is the top  22nd largest cryptocurrency by market cap, as per coinmarketcap. ETC is having a market cap of 567.3 Million USD as of press time. ETC/USD pair is getting traded at $4.94 and up by 0.36% by the hour.
