The controversial figure from crypto space Craig Wright is creating his charm in the crypto news industry repeatedly when gets the nerve of the opponent.
Earlier, Wright filed lawsuits against many Bitcoin supporters including podcaster Peter McCormack who called Wright as a fraud, an anonymous Twitter user called Hodlonaut (for defamation of character and offered publicly a $5000 bounty for the identification of address because he was called a fraud by the character), and Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum.
The self-proclaimed inventor of the major crypto-asset Bitcoin again filed a defamation case against Roger Ver, founder of Bitcoin.com, with the High Court of Antigua and Barbuda on the claims of putting his reputation down by Ver. The official defamation was found by the crypto publication cited.
Earlier in April 2019, through an official YouTube channel titled “Special Message to Craig Wright,” Ver published “Craig Wright is a liar and a fraud. So sue me. Again.” Though the video was removed later by YouTube while following the company’s guidelines.
On May 3, the video posted on Twitter.
As an action, during the time, the Australian computer scientist i.e., Wright tried to rub Ver in the High Court of England and Whales: London, though the libel suit was dismissed by the justice Matthew Nicklin of the Queen’s Bench Division as the case does not come in the same jurisdiction.
Over the lack of jurisdiction, the judge mentioned that only 7% claims and statements fall under England’s jurisdiction and the rest supplied complaints fall under the United States’ dominion and not a U.K. related dispute.
After the 2019 fail, Wright has taken the opportunity of Ver’s new citizenship and filed the latest libel suit seeking legal proceedings against Ver for publicly insulting Wright and his claims of being a true “Satoshi Nakamoto.” Also, the new defamation is to seek a court’s injunction and to refrain Ver posting further derogatory statements against Wright on social media platforms including monetary compensation for the defamation.
Craig Wright & Roger Ver Citizens of Antigua and Barbuda
This time Wright is having a strong wing to fight against Ver because the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court document mentions that both the claimant and the defendant i.e., Craig Steven Wright and Roger Keith Ver, respectively, are citizens of Antigua and Barbuda.
Roger Ver opted for the citizenship of North American country called Antigua and Barbuda by a program called “Citizenship by Investment Program” (CIP). The Facebook page of an Office of The Prime Minister Antigua and Barbuda mentioned about Ver’s citizenship in the Caribbean nation on Aug 20, 2020.
Wrights claims on being a Satoshi Nakamoto- an anonyms creator of Bitcoin has been a source of conflict when Wired publication broadcasted an article indicating that the real Bitcoin creator is an Australian genius with an exclamation.
Earlier while claiming to be an original creator of the Bitcoin White paper Wright mentioned his citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda.
