Tron blockchain now hosts the 2nd greatest number of USDT coins. It only gets beaten by Ethereum blockchain in terms of USDT issuance.
It is to be noted that USDT (Tether cryptocurrency) has been issued on six blockchains, to date. These include Ethereum, Tron, Omni, Liquid, EOS, and Algorand.
Interestingly, a large number of digital currency traders prefer to convert their cryptocurrency holdings into stablecoins like Tether during uncertain times of rapid fluctuations.
Initially, USDT was issued on Omni blockchain and it remained on Omni for quite some time before starting to move on other blockchains as well. Remarkably, Tron (TRX) has exceeded Omni in terms of the number of USDT coins ever issued on its blockchain.
Furthermore, the parent company of Tether presently has over eight and a half Billion USD worth of total assets. Last month, the firm announced that its total assets were valued at over six Billion USD. Notably, the aforementioned figures signify a thirty eight percent surge in a span of less than two months.
