Recently, the Twitter account of Twetch was suspended without warning, as per the project’s cofounder Josh Petty. Notably, Twetch is a social media platform which is run on the Bitcoin SV (BSV) blockchain network.
Twetch positions itself as a substitute of Twitter. A few hours prior to its account being suspended, the Twitter competitor posted a meme directed at Jack Dorsey, the CEO and founder of Twitter, for censoring discussions on the popular social media platform.
Meanwhile, Twetch launched an alternative account and allegedly appealed against the platform’s decision.
The removal took place subsequent to United States President Donald Trump directing an executive order apropos the usage of federal oversight of social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.
It is to be noted that the President’s order was prompted by a fact-check performed on his tweet regarding the use of mail-in ballots for elections in US.
